Study Reveals That Children Get Their Intelligence From Their Mom, Not Their Dad

Many times in your marriage and relationships, you’ll have the conversation with your husband/partner as to “where” your kid gets their skills/talents from. Obviously, men love to believe that kids get everything good from them—denying us any pride and joy in our children. But, as it turns out, science has proven that when it comes to intellect, children happen to get their wits from us moms rather than their dads.

The research featured in Psychology Spot shares that intelligence in DNA really comes down to one thing—chromosomes. The article states that intelligence genes are located on your X chromosomes–which, women have two of, whereas men only have one. So, when you’re getting extra intelligence—it’s all about the moms, obviously. Two is better than one, am I right ladies? The study also states that even if you did get intelligence genes from your father, they become “deactivated.”

“If that same gene is inherited from the father, it is deactivated. Obviously, other genes work the opposite, are activated only if they come from the father.”

So, if you’re looking for a reason to stick it to your husband today, look no further than science.
