72-Year-Old Woman Marries Teenage Boy She Met At Her Own Son’s Funeral

Sometimes you find love in the most unexpected places—like, at your son’s funeral. It seems unconventional, but for some people, love goes above everything. Almeda met Gary at her son Robert’s funeral in 2016. Two weeks after their meeting, the two fell in love and tied the knot.

According to Almeda, Gary is her “soulmate.” Almeda tells all on her new YouTube channel and even talks about her 43-year-long previous marriage.

Almeda says:

“I wasn’t looking for a young man, but Gary just came along. I just knew straight away that he was the one.”

She also added that their relationship is very healthy.

“We are always complimenting and kissing. We’re enjoying our relationship. When you meet that perfect one, that’s when you know you don’t want to lose that feeling.”

Gary admitted that the two hadn’t slept together before their wedding night, but when they did, it was magic.

“It was wonderful, beyond my wildest dreams. She really is my dream woman and the physical side of our relationship couldn’t be better.”

The two had met at Almeda’s son’s funeral. Almeda said she noticed Gary in the back of the church and thought he was “the one.”

“Then, as I was walking to the door at the end, he came over and passed on his condolences. We didn’t have much time, but it was enough.”

Almeda and Gary were set up on a “date” by Gary’s aunt, Lisa, at a  nearby Chuck E. Cheese’s pizza restaurant. Almeda asked him, up front…

“I just came out with it and said to him, ‘Look, I’m 71 and you’re 17. Am I too old for you?’ He squeezed my hand, grinned and replied: ‘Age is just a number.”

Apparently, Gary surprised Almeda the following night with red roses and a bracelet for her birthday. So sweet. The rest is history, as they say.

Many people online, however, feel a bit different about their love.

To each their own!
