Mel B Slams Lady Gaga For Breaking ‘Girl Code’ During Her Steamy Oscars Performance With Bradley Cooper

Obviously, if you saw The Oscars this weekend or, you logged onto a computer since then, you probably have heard about Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s steamy performance on stage. The two, who starred in A Star Is Born together had a lot of on-screen chemistry, but even more on-stage chemistry Sunday night. So much so, that everyone could not stop talking about them. While they’re both talented and skilled—they are also pretty lustfully into each other (really, there’s no denying it). But, while some are praising them, others are saying that it’s a bit rude and jaded to Cooper’s girlfriend.

This week, Spice Girls’ Mel B, went onto Good Morning Britain’s Academy Awards telecast and, admitted, she couldn’t help but think about Cooper’s girlfriend, Irina Shayk, the entire time.

“I felt so uncomfortable for Bradley’s girlfriend, oh my gosh,” Mel B said, according to The Daily Mail.

Responding to a comment that their pair had “the look of love,” the Spice Girl gave Gaga benefit of the doubt: “I would like to think it was part of the whole performance because there’s a women’s code and hopefully that’s not…hopefully it’s only professional,” she said.

Indeed, the on- and off-screen chemistry between Gaga and Cooper has been a topic of fan discussion and speculation since the debut of A Star Is Born. Their Oscars performance prompted the always-candid Tiffany Haddish to say, “‘I was like, are they doin’ it?'”

And the duo’s final onstage moment—when Cooper joined Gaga on the piano bench and they got really, really close as they crooned the remainder of the song together—was so notable that it actually became a meme.

Though many on Twitter couldn’t stan the Gaga/Cooper love affair enough, others were as perturbed on Irina Shayk’s behalf as Mel B.
