Meeting celebrities is something like seeing a dog walk on its back legs—rare but still, sweet and magical. Meeting people who you admire and look up to can go one of two ways: bad or amazing (well, it can go really any number of ways in between, too, but those are not nearly as fun as “bad” or “amazing”). Sometimes when we meet celebs we end up hating them because they’re nothing like how would expect them to be. Other times, they surpass our expectations by being even better than we could have imagined.
Author Jaya Saxena asked people to share their “most accurate celebrity sighting” on Twitter last week, after sharing her own: “Mine’s a tie between Sam Rockwell with an armful of DVDs in Mondo Kim’s and Richard Kind looking haggard on the M15.”
People began to share their own stories of meeting celebrities and having them be seriously “on brand.”
